What's our time worth, especially in comparison to the benefits of doing things for ourselves? While unemployed, I have picked up so many little things I would otherwise have hired out - I have become quite capable in fixing even the most difficult problems on my cars, for example, saving literally $thousands$ over the cost of repairs at mechanic shops. Gives me a nice sense of accomplishment.

Yeah! Instead of calling in a service dude, a little online research provided a handy schematic for gas stove ignitions. I was able to isolate a shorted switch, clean it and dry it out, and voilla! No $300 spark module, no $150 labor. I justify my existence!
